History Of the Squadron

620 Squadron was originally a detached flight from 126 (Derby) Squadron. The squadron was formed on the 3rd March 1986. The squadron quickly grew in numbers and quickly became had to move to its own premises.

Over the years the squadron has continued to grow from strength to strength. The Royal British Legion helped the squadron by arranging new accommodation on Tamworth Road in Duffield, and we officially became 620 (Duffield) Squadron.

In 1999 East Midlands Wing was split, and Duffield Squadron moved into Trent Wing, this did not affect the squadron and we have continued to be very successful to this day.
